We're on our way out to Dallas for the Nationals.... Connor will be representing Louisiana, Arkansas and Mississippi as the Cadet Men's Saber Division Champion, and once again he will be up against the best in the nation, so wish him luck. Historically no one from Shreveport ever places above the bottom 25-30%, but we've watched Connor improve by leaps and bounds since he qualified for this tournament, so we're hoping for good things! We'll be back Saturday night, ya'll be good to each other and rock on! (Wesley Davis, bronze; Joseph Yates, silver; Connor Bass, gold)

Howdy!
The BackBoneBand is no more! Some or all of the members of The BackBoneBand may participate in future outings but the band as it was is no more!
So, on this particular Wednesday night I'll be appearing with or without some or all of the former members of the BackBoneBand and The Naked Bean Cafe 3307 Line Ave. from 7:00 to 9:00.
Come on out. SOMEthing will be happening!

I got this, yesterday, in a general email Bruce Flett sends out weekly. since I don't live down there, I wouldn't have seen an obit in the paper.
My condolences to Buddy and Bruce.
In Memoriam Deane Flett 1915-2009
We lost our beloved father last week. Thank you for your thoughts and prayers. He is in a better place now. Special thank you to all the Staff at the Northwest LA War Veterans Home for taking such good care of him in his last years. He came to Shreveport in 1946 to work for KWKH radio. Broadcasting was his passion and he was lured to W K Henderson's voice announcing "Hello World, Doggone You" that...

Mel Galley passed away today from Esophagus Cancer in England.
if you don't know who he was, you probably never listened to Trapeze or Whitesnake much. I loved Trapeze, never really got into the latter.
Mel was a unique guitar player in that he was very well regarded as a player, but had a very bad accident in Germany at a Fairground, while with Whitesnake, I think, that led to nerve damage in his arm. he was later fitted for a device that allowed him to play guitar once again and he was active up until around 2006 or 7. He was diagnosed with the terminal Cancer in feb. 2008. He and bassist Glenn Hughes would do one off's as trapeze on occasion. interesting guy. sorry to hear...
