First, meet the WickedTickle.com staff:
WickedTickle.com created & maintained by Doc and Paige Bass.

1. What is this website for?

WickedTickle Entertainment Guide is a free resource for the promotion of live music,  local talent and just about anything else in Shreveport - Bossier and the ArkLaTex. With your help, we can be the best place for locals to find out what's happening in live music, for the artists to promote, interact, and network, and for venues to promote their gigs and recruit talent.

We are here to showcase everything good that Shreveport and Bossier have to offer. We want to bring the local arts community together, and in that union find creative ways to increase exposure and therefore income. We also want to bring national artists and programs to the ArkLaTex to take root.

And who knows? Maybe one day other towns will decide they want to be Tickled too!

2. What are the rules here?

We only have two rules:

A. Be Good To Each Other.

What more is there to say about that?

B. Stay Legal

Don't post anything illegal, or claim ownership of anything you don't legally own. If you think something might be questionable, then just don't.  Very simple. Very easy.

3. Can you post my events for me?

We have worked very hard to produce a calendar that is easy to use. You are welcome to use all the resources avaiailable here free of charge.

If you really don't want to do it yourself, we'll do it for you for a very small fee. Send Doc or Paige a message and let's discuss.

4. How can I get my music added to Wicked Tickle Radio?

Send Doc or Paige a message giving us permission to use the song(s) and let us know where to find them. We'll add you as soon as we can.The only conditions are that you must own the copyright or have written permission to use someone's song.

Can you host my music files?
YES!! We can host about 5 songs per person or band, if you need it. We can't pull songs from MySpace or FaceBook unless you have set them to "allow downloads"! Alternately, there are free hosting servers on the web (snapdrive.net and fileden.com are two) that will allow you to upload your music to them, but many will only allow one download at a time, or will not allow direct downloads at all, and as such aren't usable for our playlist. Doc also runs a hosting company, and he can provide you with *very low-cost website/file hosting.

5. What does it cost to run Wicked Tickle?

Most of the "cost" of running WT is an investment of our time, which I'm sure you can understand, is priceless.

Here are some real figures for the curious:

$10.00 per year for the domain name.

$180 per year for website hosting.

In the beginning it was less than $50.00 per year but we have grown so much since 2006!  WickedTickle.com gets about 150,000 unique visitors each month, which means a lot of people will see what you post!

$200 per year for software.

In the beginning, we were very proud that WickedTickle.com only used free software but in order to provide truly useful tools, we've had to step up a bit.  We want to thank everyone who has helped us by sharing the cost of running WT, we greatly appreciate your support!

6. How can I help support WickedTickle.com?

The BEST thing you can do to help us out is by linking to WickedTickle.com on your website, FaceBook, MySpace, etc. Telling your friends about us is the best way to ensure this site's succes!  The best way to do that is with a simple text link to: http://www.wickedtickle.com

We also can use donations of money to offset hosting and software costs.  If you have goods or services you'd like to donate that would be helpful to our cause, let us know! We have a PayPal account ( This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. ) for donations if you would like to help support Wicked Tickle.

We also now offer monthly sponsorship of the WT Calendar for $20.00 per month. Sponsors will have their banner displayed on our calendar page  for the duration of the sponsorship period. Send Doc or Paige a message.

7. What is up with that freaky name??

Some say it is about whips and chains, some say it's about crazy hacker stuff. Some say it's secret code that reveals a way to enlightenment through the use of ancient herbs and incantations and dancing with midgets under a full moon. (well... maybe we're the only ones who say that.)

What does it have to do with Shreveport? Nothing! The boring truth is that Paige invented the term accidentally. She was trying to describe the sensation when a really huge sneeze is about to over-take you and what she came up with sounded really cool...she had a "wicked tickle".

And here's how we spun it...
The word 'tickle' invokes the image of feathers, and what feather (or bird) is more proud of it's varied and expressive colors than the peacock? And guess what else feathers are used for? Quills - writing implements! And that's not all - costumery, masks, toys, all sorts of fun...and they TICKLE too. So the peacock feather became our symbol, and our motto:   If it's 'wicked' fun, or 'tickles' your fancy, it belongs here!
